ASM-R are the next generation technology for the inline  disinfection of water for applications such as agriculture, horticulture, food processing plants, swimming pools, water cooling towers….anywhere clean, pathogen free water is required without the use of chemicals.

In a world first, the ASM-R water treatment reactors use a combination of  ultraviolet (“UV”) + ultrasonic (“US”) + ozone (“O3”) technology to very successfully and cost effectively remove pathogen micro-organisms from water.

While the most common application for this technology is water disinfection it is also used for Total Organic Carbon (“TOC”) reduction, ozone destruction and chlorine/chloramines destruction.

The combination of these three processes has been found to be the most efficient, safe and environmentally friendly way to disinfect water and other fluids in a continuous manner.

ASM products are designed and built to meet the stringent needs of the Food and Beverage industry. All our products have special finish which gives them stain and bacteria resistant surfaces.

Combined Ultraviolet-Ultrasonic and ozone disinfects by disrupting the DNA or RNA structures of micro organisms. The disruption prevents micro organisms from replicating, thereby rendering them inactive and unable to cause infection. The primary mechanism of inactivation by this is the creation of Pyrimidine Dimers which are bonds formed between adjacent pairs of thymine or cytosine pyrimidines on the same DNA or RNA strand.

ASM-R Ultraviolet, ultrasonic and ozone technology is successfully used in these industries for disinfection removing pathogen micro-organisms.

The common application for this is 99% disinfection, but the technology is also used for TOC reduction, ozone destruction and chlorine/chloramines destruction.

The process, as it applies is a function of time and the intensity of Ultrasonic UV combined with Ozone to which the water/fluid is exposed effectively destroy and sterilize bacteria and other micro-organisms.

These standard features are often necessary. In addition, our products are compact and energy efficient.

  1. Ozone-oxygen gas will be injected under ultrasonic cavitation by special developed Ozone /us chamber to oxidized all pollutants in water and kill bacteria, Viruses, moulds, reduce Algae. The micro pollutants from wastewater can easily be removed using a technique which combines ultrasound –Uv and ozone. Both, ultrasound and ozone act synergistically. It should be mentioned here that ultrasound, independently of its own degradation power, reduces the contact time of ozone from 5 to 10 minutes to a few seconds. The speed up of the reaction kinetics of ozone through ultrasounds enables a much faster degradation of the micro-pollutants, and allows the treatment of large amount of wastewater at reasonably low contact times and at relatively low (adjustable) ozone input.
  2. ASM-R is able to interchange  2 types of UV rays in our reactors 185 nm Philips UV rays will remove Total organics content (reduce TOC) and also reduce Algae production.254 nm Phillip rays will kill bacteria, Viruses, moulds without any chemical added.
  3. During the whole process the treated water will be exposed to high cavitation with range of special ultrasound wave settings enhancing the results by reducing/removing fouling on lamps and chamber assisting in destroying bacteria, viruses, moulds, spores, fungi, E.coli, phosphate, ammonia, nitrate/nitrite and more.

Ultraviolet & Ultrasonic and ozone for TOC reduction and advance oxidation

ASM-R TOC Treatment system is a proven method which destroys of bacteria and viruses without leaving residual chemicals and is an excellent choice for eliminating biological contamination of most water supplies.

The primary UV/chemical reaction is an oxidation process that begins when high-energy 185 nm UV dissociates water molecules, thereby creating hydroxyls (free OH- radicals). The hydroxyls created by UV are highly reactive and readily combine with other molecules, such as the hydrocarbon molecules that make-up TOC’s. When hydroxyls combine with the TOC hydrocarbons they form water and carbon dioxide molecules; TOC’s are destroyed and the oxidation is complete.

Ozone can come from a variety of sources, and often serves as an important component to a comprehensive water purification system. However, residual ozone represents a potential health hazard and it can be damaging to finished goods, as well as to processing and fabrication equipment. Using UV to remove ozone has an advantage because UV does not require additives that may leave behind residuals. In addition, dissociation of ozone with UV also helps to oxidize TOC’s.

A side benefit of using UV for TOC reduction is that the TOC lamps will generate significant levels of 185 nm output and consequently provide high levels of microbial reduction (disinfection), in addition to the TOC reduction
Germicidal ultraviolet light destroys Ozone in water very quickly. The 254 nm wavelength produced by low-pressure germicidal UV lamps is quite effective. The mechanism for removing ozone is dissociation, which occurs when 254 nm UV energy “breaks” one of the oxygen bonds in an ozone molecule. As a result of this reaction, each ozone molecule is converted into one oxygen atom and one oxygen molecule. Free oxygen atoms will combine with each other to form oxygen molecules.
